The Federation Cynologique Internationale, the organization that hosts the Dog Dance World Championship, explains that the dog dancing routines are meant to demonstrate several things. Each dog handler is supposed to create a routine that showcases the dog’s willingness to cooperate and follow their instructions.

These routines are set to music and also show the handler’s artistic style! Whether it’s a soft routine with dozens of precise moves, or a technical routine set to military influenced music, like you see here, the options are practically limitless!

Every dog that makes it to the championship has talent, but Deril sets himself apart quickly. It’s astounding how talented this furry guy is!

After weaving through Lusy’s legs and demonstrating many of his classic skills, the pair goes into a serious routine that involves CPR, sit-ups and incredible jumps! They have been working on this routine for months and Deril is ready to show the world exactly what he’s made of.

As soon as Deril and Lusy wrap up their performance, the audience erupts in cheers and the usually rigid judges smile! It’s clear they’re going to do very well in the dog dancing world!
